Meet Mary Van Deventer, this month’s Featured Employee of the Month!
Mary has been the welcoming face at our front desk for the past eight months, but her impact goes far beyond her title. With a warm smile and a gift for conversation, Mary has a way of making everyone feel like family the moment they walk through our doors.
“Mary has been a fantastic addition to our team this year. She is friendly, observant, and very willing to help. Mary has assisted as receptionist, in activities, and in dining service,” said Lisa Holstein, Executive Director. “Mary is a natural caregiver and shows compassion with our residents.”
Mary’s favorite part about working at Gentry Park is the residents, staff, and visitors. “It feels like one big family here,” she said.
Outside work, Mary enjoys spending time with her family, attending her grandkids’ sporting events, and meeting new people; though she has never met a stranger. “I love to talk to people,” Mary said. That’s what makes Mary a perfect fit for this role.
