Lestine Grady from Traditions of Columbus is our Featured Resident of the Month! Lestine is a steady, joyful presence who makes Traditions of Columbus feel like home. She participates in a wide variety of activities and contributes significantly to what makes our community so special!
Lestine has lived at Traditions of Columbus since November 2025 to be closer to her daughter and son, and we’ve been grateful for her presence ever since. Born in Floral, Arkansas, and raised in St. Louis, she built a beautiful life with her husband, Jim, to whom she was married for 23 years. Together they raised two children, Jim and Sandy, and today her family has grown to include seven grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, and even a great‑great‑grandchild. (They call her Triple G!)
“Lestine is always inviting, always welcoming, and always smiling. She is involved in nearly every aspect of community life…..part of the fabric that makes us who we are. Her kindness and compassion take the lead in everything she does! We’re grateful Lestine has chosen to call Traditions of Columbus home!” – Georgie Robertson, Activity Director, Traditions of Columbus
Before retirement, Lestine worked as a receptionist in a psychology office, a role that perfectly suited her warm personality and natural ability to make others feel seen and cared for. That same kindness shines through her hobbies as well. She loves knitting blankets and giving them to others.
She brings energy, positivity, and a genuine connection to everything she participates in.
“My dad always told me, ‘Just keep moving.’ And that’s what I’m trying to do!” Lestine said.
Congratulations, Lestine!
